Inspired by my family’s Chinese restaurant, I created the fortune cookie painting, “Broken Fortunes.”

Our restaurants’ customers said, “If your fortune cookie breaks, your fortune won’t come true”. Depicting the failure of the American dream, I recreated broken fortune cookies with fortunes from my family’s restaurant.
